The Monaco Foundation Takes Part in the First Round Table of the “City of the Future” Series<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Fondation de Monaco took part in the first round table of the cycle \u201cThe City of the Future\u201d<\/em>, launched by the Director of the Coll\u00e8ge d\u2019Espagne, Mr. Justo ZAMBRANA PINEDA, on the occasion of the centenary of the Cit\u00e9 internationale universitaire de Paris (CIUP), celebrated this year.<\/p>\n

This first meeting, focused on ecology, was held on June 5, World Environment Day, under the theme: \u201cTowards a model of living together that contributes to the balance of the planet.\u201d<\/em>
On this occasion, Ms. Martine GARCIA MASCARENHAS, Director of the Fondation de Monaco, reaffirmed the Principality\u2019s strong commitment to fighting climate change and its target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 \u2014 a goal highlighted as 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement. She also emphasized the key role of the building sector in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and recalled the creation, in 2016, of the Mission for Energy Transition.<\/p>\n

Two representatives of the Prince\u2019s Government \u2014 Ms. Pauline CAILLOUET, project manager for the Public Building Maintenance Service, and Mr. Rapha\u00ebl CAROSSI, building energy specialist at the Mission for Energy Transition \u2014 participated in the round table led by Ms. St\u00e9phanie DEMBACK-DIJOUX, Director, trainer-consultant in organizational transformation, and Deputy Mayor of the 19th arrondissement of Paris. They presented some of Monaco\u2019s innovative solutions, such as the \u201cSustainable Mediterranean Buildings of Monaco\u201d (BD2M)<\/em> initiative, the integration of photovoltaic panels in protected architectural settings such as the Lyc\u00e9e Albert I, centralized building management systems in collective living spaces like schools, and the educational energy-saving competition \u201cMonaCUBE.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In front of an audience mainly composed of CIUP residents, three major themes were discussed:<\/p>\n
