{"id":22389,"date":"2025-06-09T08:17:41","date_gmt":"2025-06-09T06:17:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/montecarloliving.com\/?p=22389"},"modified":"2025-06-06T12:31:04","modified_gmt":"2025-06-06T10:31:04","slug":"monacos-international-cooperation-3-5-million-beneficiaries-between-2022-and-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/montecarloliving.com\/en\/actuality\/monacos-international-cooperation-3-5-million-beneficiaries-between-2022-and-2024-22389\/","title":{"rendered":"Monaco\u2019s International Cooperation: 3.5 Million Beneficiaries Between 2022 and 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"142\" data-end=\"679\"><strong data-start=\"142\" data-end=\"163\">On Friday, June 6<\/strong>, the Directorate of International Cooperation presented to the Heads of Government Departments the main results of the <strong data-start=\"283\" data-end=\"323\">2022\u20132024 Strategic Cooperation Plan<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"324\" data-end=\"327\" \/>During this period, the <strong data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"398\">Prince\u2019s Government mobilized \u20ac74.1 million<\/strong> in Official Development Assistance (ODA) to support the fight against poverty.<br data-start=\"477\" data-end=\"480\" \/>With <strong data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"509\">\u20ac637\/year per capita<\/strong>, Monaco ranks among the most supportive countries in the world\u2014a true \u201c<strong data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"615\">small country with a big heart<\/strong>,\u201d as described by UN Secretary-General <strong data-start=\"655\" data-end=\"670\">Ban Ki-moon<\/strong> in 2013.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"681\" data-end=\"953\">By focusing its efforts on <strong data-start=\"708\" data-end=\"741\">12 countries across 3 regions<\/strong>*, Monaco\u2019s Cooperation concentrates its support to maximize the impact of its actions. Over <strong data-start=\"834\" data-end=\"848\">75% of ODA<\/strong> was directed to <strong data-start=\"865\" data-end=\"907\">eight Least Developed Countries (LDCs)<\/strong>, thus meeting the UN\u2019s target in this regard.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1233\">With <strong data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"996\">one-third of resources allocated<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1001\" data-end=\"1030\">2.4 million beneficiaries<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1032\" data-end=\"1042\">health<\/strong> remains the leading sector of Monaco\u2019s Cooperation. This support helped strengthen health system capacities and contributed to the reduction of <strong data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1232\">maternal, child, and adolescent mortality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1487\">Initiatives aimed at enhancing <strong data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1297\">food and nutrition security<\/strong> reached <strong data-start=\"1306\" data-end=\"1345\">half a million direct beneficiaries<\/strong>, relying particularly on <strong data-start=\"1371\" data-end=\"1398\">sustainable agriculture<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"1407\" data-end=\"1427\">\u201cSchool Feeding\u201d<\/strong> program, which promotes the development of school canteens.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1489\" data-end=\"1623\">Projects in <strong data-start=\"1501\" data-end=\"1535\">education and child protection<\/strong> also impacted <strong data-start=\"1550\" data-end=\"1568\">500,000 people<\/strong>, with special attention given to <strong data-start=\"1602\" data-end=\"1622\">girls\u2019 education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1625\" data-end=\"1866\">Support for access to <strong data-start=\"1647\" data-end=\"1662\">decent work<\/strong> enabled nearly <strong data-start=\"1678\" data-end=\"1696\">100,000 people<\/strong> to progress toward economic empowerment, through improved <strong data-start=\"1755\" data-end=\"1793\">employability, vocational training<\/strong>, and access to <strong data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1829\">entrepreneurship<\/strong>, especially for <strong data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"1865\">women and youth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1868\" data-end=\"2167\">Across all interventions, the <strong data-start=\"1898\" data-end=\"1929\">most vulnerable populations<\/strong> were prioritized\u2014<strong data-start=\"1947\" data-end=\"2040\">children, women and girls, persons with disabilities, displaced individuals, and refugees<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"2041\" data-end=\"2044\" \/><strong data-start=\"2044\" data-end=\"2101\">Environmental protection and sustainable resource use<\/strong> were also integrated through a focus on <strong data-start=\"2142\" data-end=\"2166\">sustainable projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2169\" data-end=\"2408\">Finally, this period was marked by an <strong data-start=\"2207\" data-end=\"2241\">unprecedented series of crises<\/strong> linked to <strong data-start=\"2252\" data-end=\"2304\">climate change, conflicts, and natural disasters<\/strong>. The Principality responded to <strong data-start=\"2336\" data-end=\"2360\">53 emergency appeals<\/strong> from the United Nations and international
