Mme Isabelle BERRO-AMADE\u00cf, Acting Minister of State and Government Counsellor \u2013 Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, took part in the 134th Ministerial Session of the Council of Europe, held in Luxembourg on 13 and 14 May 2025. She was accompanied by Gabriel REVEL, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Monaco to the Council of Europe, and Florian BOTTO, Adviser at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.<\/p>\n

Exactly one year from now, following the next Ministerial Session to be held in Moldova, Monaco will assume, for the first time since joining, the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for a six-month term starting on 15 May 2026.<\/p>\n

In her speech, Mme BERRO-AMADE\u00cf particularly emphasized the urgency of achieving a just, reliable, and lasting peace in Ukraine, safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and independence in accordance with the principles of international law. She also reaffirmed the crucial role of the European Court of Human Rights and the unconditional nature of the implementation of its judgments.<\/p>\n

On the sidelines of the session, Mme BERRO-AMADE\u00cf held bilateral talks with her counterparts from Moldova and Montenegro, who will hold the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers immediately before and after the Principality. These meetings provided an opportunity to discuss shared priorities in view of the upcoming terms.<\/p>\n

She also met with her counterparts from Andorra and Austria, as well as with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe. These meetings served to discuss the Organisation\u2019s activities and to announce Monaco\u2019s voluntary contribution agreement for the 2025\u20132026 period, amounting to 500,000 euros\u2014double the amount for 2023\u20132024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
