La Malmaison, an international center for contemporary art, has opened its doors in Cannes on the famous Boulevard de la Croisette. The historic building has been completely renovated, expanded, and beautified.<\/p>\n
Following the revitalization led by the Municipality, the new art center now boasts three times the exhibition space (from 207 to 600 m\u00b2), dedicated to hosting world-renowned collections and extraordinary loaned works of art.<\/p>\n
The art center includes a multipurpose room, a bookstore, and a panoramic terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. It is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.<\/p>\n
Currently, an exhibition titled Luxe, calme et volupt\u00e9<\/em> is on display, which can be visited until April 20, 2025. The show, celebrating works inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, features works by 56 artists, including C\u00e9zanne, Monet, Renoir, Picasso, and Combas.<\/p>\n David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes, stated: \u201cLa Malmaison is a symbol of the Municipality\u2019s cultural ambition, and thanks to the major expansion and renovation work, it has been transformed into an international center for contemporary art. We have reimagined the spaces, tripling the exhibition area, enhancing the facade while preserving its historical identity, and opened a rooftop with a breathtaking view of the bay.\u201d<\/p>\n La Malmaison, located on the Croisette, had not undergone structural renovations for decades. Built in 1864 by architects Vianey and Blondel and reconstructed in 1901, the building represents the last vestige of the Belle \u00c9poque on the Croisette.<\/p>\n Main Renovation Works:<\/strong><\/p>\n The exhibition spaces are equipped with advanced air treatment, lighting, and climate control systems, making La Malmaison suitable for hosting works from the world\u2019s leading cultural institutions.<\/p>\n The total investment for these works, including infrastructure interventions, high-level renovations, and new installations, amounts to \u20ac10,948,633.97.<\/p>\n The new art center will host three exhibitions per year:<\/p>\n La Malmaison, an international center for contemporary art, has opened its doors in Cannes on the famous Boulevard de la Croisette.
